1. What qualifications do I get?
All our workplace First Aid certificates we issue are nationally recognised, acknowledged, and certifed are nationally recoganised and certified by governing bodies like FAIB and Qualsafe Awards, which ensures that you have met the Health & Safety (First Aid) 1981 Regulations for your workplace.
Our 2 Day Paediatric First Aid course is fully compliant with regulations set by the Department of Education and required by Ofsted registered early year setups and meets EYFS requirements, making it ideal for childcare professionals, teachers, and parents.
Additionally, we also offer Ofqual-regulated First Aid courses for a small additional fee. These courses provide a nationally recognised Ofqual certificate upon completion.

2. How long does my Qualification last for?
All of our regulated qualifications will last for three years, however, if you are doing an awareness course then we recommend this is renewed every 12 months.
3. How long will it take for my certificate to arrive?
We aim to deliver all certificates within 14 working days of course completion and payment.
If you need proof sooner, we can send a confirmation email to show your employer, confirming that you have successfully completed the relevant First Aid course.
4. What happens if I lose my first aid training certificate?
A replacement certificate can be issued upon request for a fee of £5.
5. Can I book a first aid at work course over the weekend?
Yes, we can deliver First Aid at Work courses on weekends upon request.
An additional fee of £50 per weekend day will apply.

6. Can you fail a First Aid course?
Yes, it is possible to fail a 3-day first aid course if you do not meet the required standards in the practical assessments or final exam.
However, we provide comprehensive training, including clear instruction, hands-on practice, and support from experienced trainers to ensure you are well-prepared.
Our goal is to make sure you understand all essential first aid skills, giving you the confidence and knowledge needed to pass and become a competent first aider.

8. I can't pay right now... Can I still reserve a space?
We kindly request payment 14 days prior to the course start date.
If this isn't possible, please contact us to reserve your place.
Payments can be made via Card Payments, Stripe or by bank transfer.
9. How many delegates will be present per training session?
According to HSE guidelines, 1 trainer can teach up to 12 students per course.
If necessary, additional trainers can be added upon request.
For our open courses, we usually have a maximum of 12 students.
Unregulated courses may allow for more students, depending on the trainer's discretion.
10. What type of clothes do I need to wear on the day of my first aid training?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear due to the practical elements of the course.
11. How long does the first aid course in York last?
All courses begin at 9:00 AM and follow this schedule:
- 10:30 AM – 15-minute break
- 12:00 PM – 30-minute lunch break
- 2:30 PM – 15-minute break
- 4:00 PM – Course ends (unless otherwise arranged)

13. What does Dr. ABC mean in first Aid?
DR. ABC is a mnemonic to help remember the primary steps in first aid:
D – Danger: Check for danger

14. What amenities are available on-site?
We provide water, tea, coffee, and biscuits during breaks.
However, we recommend bringing your own lunch for the day.
16. How much does a first aid course cost in the UK?
Our first aid courses in York start at £95 + VAT per person.

Founder Ian Bryan has had an extensive career lasting over 30 years, as an NHS Paramedic, both on the road and for the County Air Ambulance. With a passion for First Aid and Emergency care, Ian went on to build a family run business made up of individuals who are fully trained and experienced in Pre Hospital Emergency Care, First Response and current NHS staff.
